What Cookie Inspector does

Cookie Inspector is a Chrome browser extension that lets you view, inspect, and manage the cookies stored in your browser. It reads cookie data already present on your device and displays it within the extension popup.

Data collection

We do not collect any data. Specifically:

No cookie names, values, or metadata are ever sent to any server
No browsing history or activity is recorded
No analytics or tracking of any kind is used
No third-party services are contacted

Local storage

Cookie Inspector uses Chrome's local storage API solely to save your theme preference (light or dark mode) and any cookie snapshots you choose to create. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by removing the extension.

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

cookies — required to read, modify, and delete cookies on your behalf
storage — required to save your theme preference and snapshots locally
host permissions (<all_urls>) — required so the cookies API can operate across all domains

These permissions are used exclusively to provide the features of the extension and for no other purpose.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised date.
